Welcome to Table Work: Where Storytelling Meets Strategy

A blog where creativity meets strategy, and where the messy beginnings of collaboration turn into something worth sharing.

What’s On the Table

Welcome to Table Work

In theatre, table work happens before the lights, costumes, or applause. It’s a group of artists sitting around a script, asking questions, poking holes in the story, and occasionally wondering why anyone thought Shakespeare needed that many soliloquies.

It’s not glamorous. But it’s where the magic sneaks in—where questions spark ideas and where individual processes bump into each other until, somehow, collaboration starts to click.

This blog borrows that spirit. Table Work is where creativity and strategy get a chance to breathe before the big show.

Why This Blog Exists

Every field—whether it’s tech, nonprofit, education, or the arts—runs into the same wall: how do you line up people, process, and purpose without losing your mind (or your deadline)?

That’s where I’ve spent most of my career. And that’s why this blog exists: to explore how Agile practices, storytelling, and human-centered leadership can turn chaos into something meaningful. Think of it as a place to swap lessons learned, tools that work, and the occasional reminder that “done” is better than “perfect.”

What You'll Find

This isn’t a one-note blog. Expect a mash-up of case studies, practical tips, and reflections from different corners of my work:

  • Agile in Practice – Real-world lessons from teams and projects.

  • Nonprofit Strategy – Balancing vision, resources, and impact.

  • Stage & Audio Productions – What project management looks like when the deadline is opening night.

  • Scrum in Education – How Agile can empower classrooms and reshape the learning process.

  • Actor Tips & Insights – Practical advice for performers navigating their craft.

Table Work is a shared playbook. It’s part resource, part experiment lab, and part backstage pass.

Who It's For

If you’re someone who straddles creativity and structure, this is for you. That includes:

  • Agile professionals who value cross-disciplinary thinking.

  • Technologists exploring creativity within Agile frameworks.

  • Nonprofit leaders balancing mission-driven work with execution.

  • Teachers who want classrooms to feel more alive.

  • Artists and performers who know the show must go on (even when the process is chaos).

If you’ve ever tried to herd cats and hit deadlines, welcome—you’re among friends.

How to Use This Blog

There’s no right way to explore Table Work. Here are some ideas:

  • Browse by category if you’re here for specifics.

  • Read the case studies for “lessons learned the hard way.”

  • Dip into tips and tools when you need a quick win.

  • Share posts with a colleague, a class, or that one friend who insists Agile is just for software.

  • Above all, let this be your go-to space for perspective, clarity, and the spark that turns ideas into action.

  • Join the Conversation

Join The Conversation

The best work doesn’t happen in isolation, it happens at the table. And like any good table, this one grows richer with every new voice that joins.

So, pull up a chair. Bring your questions, your stories, your “this totally bombed but here’s what I learned” moments. Because together, we can shape smarter ways of working, unlock creativity, and lead with impact.
